About Usman

Usman Akhtar is a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) with over 10 years of experience working at the intersection of mental health and public safety.

He has been stationed at an OPP 911 communications centre answering live mental health crisis calls, embedded with Ontario Provincial Police as a Crisis and Care Manager supporting officers with their mental health struggles, and worked as a Crisis Clinician conducting assessments alongside emergency physicians and police in hospitals and jail holding cells.

He has sat across from people in the worst moments of their lives, and his job was to bring them back from the edge. Usman strives to bring this clinical foundation he brings to every session he conducts.

Usman’s approach is structured and forward-moving. He works with people who are ready to start seeing change in their lives, to understand what’s driving their patterns, clear what’s in the way, and build a deliberate path forward.

He works primarily with police officers, RCMP, firefighters, paramedics, 911 dispatchers, corrections officers, and their families.
